Greta's 30-Day No-Screen Challenge — a Free Download for Your Family

We all know screens are part of modern life. But every now and then, it's worth looking up.

That's really the heart of Through Greta's Eyes. Little Greta watches her mum absorbed in a screen and gently, lovingly, invites her to notice the world around her. It's a simple moment — but it resonates with so many families, because most of us have been that mum. Or that child.

There's so much talk right now about screen time, and what to do about it. But in our busy lives, who has the time to sit down and think up a list of alternatives? That's exactly why I created this challenge. Greta has done the thinking for you.

What's inside the challenge?

The 30-Day No-Screen Challenge is a free PDF packed with 30 simple, joyful activities — one for each day of the month.

You don't have to do them in order. You don't have to do one every single day. Dip in and out at whatever pace works for your family — the goal is simply to look up a little more.

Who is it for?

All ages! The activities can be adapted for anyone, from little ones to grandparents. Younger children will need some help and supervision — especially for anything that involves heading outside — but that's really the point. This challenge works beautifully as a family activity you do together, or as a gentle way for an individual to check in with the elders in their life.

Some of my favourite activities in here are the simplest ones. Eating breakfast without a screen. Really tasting your food. Noticing the sounds around you. We feel so much better when we step away — even for a few minutes — and this challenge makes it easy to start.

A challenge a month?

If you love this one, I'm thinking about posting a brand new challenge each month! Each one inspired by Greta's world and the themes in the books — nature, kindness, creativity, community. Watch this space.
